You can as long as it is not going to be posted anywhere on the internet or in any place of business.

Nope, it won't be. It's only going to be used for some ICT coursework i'm working on.
Thanks.

What a great image to portray the american west. It is almost iconic in a way.

I like the addition of the palm fronds to the foreground because their radial pattern adds a lot to the complexity of the image and improves the composition much further beyond what it would have been had you cut them out.

Those colours are becoming a trademark.. I can pick your thumbnails from a keyboard away.I'm with the guy who said pull back
and get the whole plant in the foreground. The background and the skys are perfect. I think you need to balance them
with foreground interest. If all else fails take a soft
teddy bear with you!

Again an M.J.-trademark-sky ;) Great!

I really like the spiky grasses on the foreground. They 'make' the picture.

Thanks so much!
To get that look I just add a little black to the blue and cyan, and then adjust the hue and sat for those colors. At the end I increase contrast if needed and voila! :)

I think that composition is perfect, Ms. M. There is a dream-like quality. Now I'm wondering, west of where?
Reply
:iconkonijntje:
Konijntje Featured By Owner Aug 31, 2006  Hobbyist Photographer
By my calculations it is west of anything to its east.
It's also west of lat 96.6341.
West is relative - to you it could be called East.

:icongeraldwinslow:

I was thinking the same. It's like the Middle East, which scholars, for snobbish reasons, call the Near East. And then, of course, there's the Far East and the Far West. My hunch is that this picture is taken just east of the Far West. ;p (It's fabulous wherever it is!)
